 How do I subscribe to Sanathana Sarathi?

 In what languages is Sanathana Sarathi available?

The Magazine is published in English and Telugu by Sri Sathya Sai Books and Publications Trust from Prasanthi Nilayam. Regional editions of the magazine are published from the regional/state head quarters by the respective Sathya Sai Organisational units/Publication Trusts/Boards. The Magazine is published in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarathi, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Sindhi and Tamil apart from some foreign languages.

What is the subscription rate for Sanathana Sarathi?

Subscription for English and Telugu are accepted for a minimum of one year and maximum of three years. The rates are as follows with effect from 1st March 2009:

Indian Postal rates for Nepal and Bhutan have been changed to overseas postal rates. Hence, from 1st December 2008 subscribers from Nepal and Bhutan are requested to pay subscriptions for Sanathana Sarathi as per following rates:

How do I make remittance towards subscription to the Magazine?

Inland: Subscription fees can be paid by cash at our counters in Prasanthi Nilayam, Brindavan (Kadugodi, Bangalore) or any of the State Organisations against proper receipt. Subscription can also be paid through Indian Money Order, Postal Orders, Bank Draft drawn in favour of The Convener, Sri Sathya Sai Books and Publications Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam.

Overseas: Subscription can be paid by cash at our counters in Prasanthi Nilayam, Brindavan (Kadugodi, Bangalore) or any of the State Organisations against proper receipt. Subscription can also be paid through International Money Orders, Bank Drafts, British Postal Orders, Personal Cheques. Rupee Instruments should be payable in India. Instruments in freely convertible foreign currency should be drawn payable in the capital city or main commercial city of the country, where it is drawn. Instruments which are drawn payable in other places will attract charges from the overseas bank/postal authorities resulting in insufficient funds for subscription. Please ensure that instruments drawn in convertible foreign currencies are payable without any deduction of charges. (e.g., USD instruments payable in New York, Sterling instruments payable in London, U.K., Euro instrument payable in Hamburg, Germany)

Please note that early clearance of the remittance is facilitated thru' Demand Draft payment.

Is it possible to extend the subscription period by the number of issues missed (not received)?

Subscription will not be extended by the number of issues 'not received'. In such cases of non-receipt it is advised to intimate the same via email to: subscriptions@sssbpt.org to enable the office verify and do the needful.

Upon verification if it is found that copies have been despatched as per the schedule, the party will be sent an electronic version(s) of the missing copy(ies) with a request to verify with the local post office; and if the copies have not been despatched as per schedule, missing copy(ies) will be sent to the party without further delay, with due apology.

I have already subscribed to the Magazine some months back, but have not been receiving my copies...Please clarify?

Sanathana Sarathi is despatched from Prasanthi Nilayam on the 10th and 23rd of every month for English and Telugu version respectively. All subscriptions enrolled till 5th of every month will included in the mailing list for the particular month.

The reasons for non-receipt could be either wrong delivery, lose in transit or incomplete address. If the copy is not received after ten days of the above mentioned dates you are advised to contact us either at 08555-287375 or at subscriptions@sssbpt.org furnishing details thereof.

Is change of language possible from English to Telugu and vice-versa?

At any point of time during the period of validity change of language is possible between English and Telugu. As the Magazine in other languages is published from different regional headquarters it is not possible to interchange languages between English/Telugu with other languages.

How do I notify change of address?

Any change in subscriber’s address should be intimated immediately giving the seven digit alpha numeric subscription number alongwith old address and the proposed new address in full.

While change of address from Overseas to India is permissible, change of address from India to overseas location is not accepted unless differences in subscription rates are paid for the full year. If the overseas subscriber wants the magazine to be sent to an Indian address for a few months and subsequently shift back to his overseas address, this can be done with advance intimation.

Is it permitted to change the address from Overseas to India and vice-versa for a temporary phase during the subscription period?

It is permitted to change the address from Overseas location to any Indian location, condition being, the same should be intimated to the Book Trust in advance quoting the seven digit alpha numeric subscription number and the proposed new address specifying the exact period.

In case of address change from original overseas location to another location the subscriber can do so by intimating us in advance about his move furnishing details of his latest address and the month from which he will be back at his original location.

In case you want to change your mailing address to an Indian location, instead of your original location in Overseas, you may intimate the same well in advance quoting your seven digit alpha numeric subscription number and address for the new location and the month by when you want the address to be reverted back to the original location.

Is it possible to send gift subscription to a friend living abroad?

It is possible to do so. The addressee details in full along with remittance should be sent to The Convener, Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust - Publications Division, Prasanthi Nilayam, Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, 515134, INDIA. If you wish to notify your name and address to the addressee referred to, you may furnish your details along with.

Is online remittance accepted towards subscription to Sanathana Sarathi?

This facility is not available at present for fresh subscriptions. Those who have account with Book Trust may do so by intimating their details via e-mail, for fresh subscription as well as for renewal, and upon receiving the intimation their name(s) will be enrolled or subscription will be renewed. In the case of fresh subscription the subscription number will be intimated subsequently.

What are the foreign currencies accepted by your bankers towards subscription to Sanathana Sarathi?

Indian Rupees, Euro, US Dollar, UK Sterling Pounds are preferred by our bankers and hence these currencies are desirable considering the banking and exchange facilities available at Prasanthi Nilayam.  

When do I receive the magazine every month?

The English edition is slated for posting on the 10th and the Telugu version on the 23rd of every month. Transit time within India should take a maximum of 10 days, and for overseas destinations the same should be 15 days. Devotees across the world may please take notice that as the magazine is sent for bulk posting at Prasanthi Nilayam Post Office, it does take some extra time at the Post Office for sorting before desaptching to various zone around the world, and hence slight delay at times.

DEVOTEES FROM CANADA MAY PLEASE NOTE...

Devotees from Canada may please avoid sending Canadian Postal Money Order in US Dollar denomination as heavy commission is charged by bankers on Canadian Postal Order and credit will be received after substantial delay.

It is desirable to send remittance through Demand Draft either in Indian Rupees or in Canadian Dollars. For Canadian Postal Orders, Canada Postal Service will be deducting service charges, a minimum of 5 Canadian Dollars and hence it will be difficult to meet the demand fully. In case if you opt to remit in Canadian Postal Order, you may please remit Canadian Dollar 20.

DO NOT COMBINE REMITTANCE...

Please do not combine Sanathana Sarathi subscriptions with payments for any other magazines. We accept subscriptions to Sanathana Sarathi only and any combined remittance for magazines namely Bal Vikas etc. are not acceptable and the instrument shall be returned. Bal Vikas magazine is published from Mumbai.

Any literary contribution for publishing in Sanathana Sarathi can be sent to the Editor, Sanathana Sarathi,Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust - Publications Division, Prasanthi Nilayam 515134 or can be sent by mail at editor@sssbpt.org. The publisher reserves the right for final decision on these literary offerings.
