Thu, Sep 30, 2010: This evening, when the retiring day turned golden under the flashy bulbs, as Bhagawan emerged at 1825 hrs. (6:25) to the tunes of a soulful Rama bhajan, the waning twilight was preparing herself to hear the nectarous story of the greatest devotee of Lord Rama in the immediate Divine presence. In the multitudes present welcoming Bhagawan, there was a distinct orange scarved group of men and women, numbering almost two thousand, who were ready to celebrate the advent of the 85th year of Bhagawan! The narrator for the evening was Lord Rama and the men and women in orange scarves who set the stage for the Lord of Treta for the narration were the youth from Maharashtra.

Completing a full round of darshan, Bhagawan came onstage at 1845 hrs.(6:45). As bhajans continued in full devotional fervour, Bhagawan went on leafing through letters from devotees. After half-an-hour Bhagawan nodded for the programme to commence.

Representatives from various Maharashtra districts made a beeline unto the dais presenting details of various service activities. Men in pairs followed by women forayed to the centrestage showing brochures detailing the activities undertaken.

The programme for the evening, a dance drama entitled Anjaneya Veera, was presented by the Youth and Balvikas from Akola district of Maharashtra.

Beginning the presentation, setting an intro into the story of Hanuman, Lord Rama told his chosen devotee that it was His Will that He would narrate the story of Veeranjaneya this day, against the normal practice, of Hanuman singing Rama's glory incessantly, and thus began this Thursday evening's odyssey with Lord Rama and Hanuman.

The one hour presentation began with Lord Rama narrating a young devotee of Veeranjaneya about the tale of Hanuman's mysterious birth with the blessing of Wind God. Traversing through the eventful episode, The Lord went on explaing Hanuman's tutelage under Sun God, his wrangle with Lord Indra, initiation into the Rama Mantra, meeting up with Valmiki etc. The narration was backed by visual illustration. When Sage Valmiki went on extolling Hanuman's feats with his work on Lord Rama's story, an 'infuriated' Hanuman grabbed the literary piece to tear the same into pieces yelling that only Lord Rama deserves name, fame and glory.

Hanuman's meeting with Sugreeva, slaying of Bali, crossing over to Lanka to fight for Mother Sita etc. came in sequence before the scene was brought to the court of Lord Rama in Ayodhya, where, post coronoation, immediate followers of Lord were dividing their duties towards The Lord.

Narrating the tale as told by Bhagawan in Rama Katha Rasavahini, the episode of Hanuman grabbing the most pricey responsibility of 'snapping the yawn' was depicted before coming into the final scene of Hanuman explainig his part of 'His Story' that happened in the Hanuman Temple in Prasanthi Nilayam. As Hanuman went on replying to Lord Ram for His offer of liberation to his chosen devotee, that for him his body that helps him to chant His Beloved Lord's Name is more precious than liberation, one could see hundreds of Maharashtra youth, both men and women, waving saffron flags, showcasing allegiance to Hanuman's exemplary devotion. Anecdotes from the lives of Bhadrachala Ramdas, Goswami Tulsidas etc., Samartha Ramdas were also lucidly illustrated.

Upon the one hour presentation, Bhgawan went down the dais and posed for photographs. Accepting Mangala Arathi at 2040 hrs. Bhagawan left the dais, retiring for the day. Laddu Prasadam was distributed to the entire assemblage.

Wed, Sep 29, 2010: Presenting a beautiful darshan on this Wednesday morning, Bhagawan emerged at 0815 hrs. going for a full round of darshan. Taking a detour before reaching the Vedam block, Bhagawan moved further towards the front entrance of the hall, known popularly as Dasavathar Gate. Calling for His car, Bhagawan went out for a drive towards Enumulapalli Cross, two km drive from Prasanthi, approximately. Turning about as He returned at 0845 hrs. Vedic chanting welcomed Him to the Mandir. Moving on the portico, alighting at the Verandah, Bhagawan came onstage for a brief six minutes before leaving the dais for interview room.

As Bhajans continued outside, Bhagawan spent time inside granting interviews. Emerging at 0955 hrs. Bhagawan came onstage to accept Mangala Arathi at 1000 hrs. before retiring to Yajur Mandiram.

Tue, Sep 28, 2010: South Africans owned a Prasanthi evening! Camping in Prasanthi on a ten days' pilgrimage, this evening, the South Africans presented a musical dance drama entitled "Ubuntu", meaning I am because you are, you are because I am, calling on the country's story of unity in diversity.

To a lit up, colourful Sai Kulwant Hall that had, apart from the thousands, a congregation of 2400 from South Africa, this evening, Bhagawan came in just after 1900 hrs. (7:00) Deviating from the regular practice Bhagawan was welcomed with bhajans that commenced at His arrival. A full round of darshan ensued, that saw His bounty of blessings upon the thousands, before He

came onstage at 1915 hrs. (7:15). Bhajans came to a close and an announcement on the South Afican production for the evening was made subsequently.

Presented by 356 students from the four Sathya Sai Schools in South Africa along with SSE and Balvikas children, the music drama turned out to become a delectable visual treat, amply showing the rich cultural variety of the nation. Essaying the beautiful story of Unity in Diversity, the fifty

minute presentation ran through the historical time of evolution of the nation beginning from immigration of the tribals, the Europeans and the Indians to the dark days of apartheid. Taking the story further through the Mahatma Gandhi episode in South African followed by the Father of the Nation's, Nelson Mandela, heroics winning democracy for the nation, the drama ended up talking about human values and Bhagawan teachings.

Presenting the unique theme with the aid of the 'Big Five' of South African Jungles, elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard, engaging in conversation with a tribal chief, the production unravelled the evolutionary struggle through eleven musical pieces including national anthems and folk medleys. Dance sequences by children donning thematic traditional constumes and make ups

matching the storyline, to the background score of African Beats, lifted the colourful evening to greater musical heights, charging up the entire surroundings on the beautiful evening turned twilight in the Divine Presence. Bhagawan sat through the entire session glued on to the presentation through and through.

Crediting the emergence of democratic South Africa to the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan, these graceful children concluded the presentation with an African Medley followed by a South African Victory Song! What the Sai Kulwant Hall witnessed was the struggle of the South Africans, raising into a democracy, progressing to nurture human values. South African pride went raising to its hoods, as the united Voice of South Africa was heard ehoing "My South Africa, Our South Africa". Children holding the colourful National Flag was seen waving the same intermittently while swaying to the beats and tunes on traditional instruments. The children were seen waving various country flags as well heralding the message of Unity in Diversity.

Even as the children converged in the front block for the final song, greater blessing was on their way. Upon the end of the presentation, Bhagawan moved down the dais and spent next fifteen minutes with the children, as the entire lot of participating children got to come unto Bhagawan receiving laddu prasadam from the Divine hands. Bhagawan blessed the entire crew with group photographs as well.

Bliss of being in the close proximity with their Beloved Swami was seen on many a face; lit up faces bore testimony to this. A physically challenged boy who was on a wheel chair got himself transferred on to his limp legs, moving unto him 'dancing'...and lo! what a sight! one should see the bright sunshine on the little one's face that shone with brilliance on a glitzy nightfall, as He was blessed with His touch of Grace! Indeed, Bhagawan was giving Himself, reciprocating to the South African Love!

South Africans children literally came and conquered The Divine! ...with their dazzling colourful display of love, devotion and dedication. A couple of songs by the musical troupe followed after which Bhagawan called for Mangala Arathi. As He sat on, gesticulating to children, at first, indicating to go and have food, followed by another one, to go...wipe their faces and have food, the innocent bunch burst into crowd cheers, rejoicing every bit of His immediate presence. Blessing the concourse, Bhagawan left the dais, gliding into the ladies' side, retiring to Yajur Mandiram at 2050 hrs. (8:50)

Mon, Sep 27, 2010: Wearing a tinge of all knowing smile there appeared The Lord and beholding the sight Prasanthi turned brimming with ecstastic joy! This evening, emerging at 1835 hrs., as Bhagawan went 'floating' in the pathway blessing the concourse on the glittering twilight, His eyes met many an eye, emitting Mother Sai's special brand of love and compassion.

Completing a full round of darshan, Bhagawan moved into the interview room, granting interview to the visiting Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Ashok Chavan, along with family members. The interview lasted for forty minutes.

Emerging after the interview, Bhagawan blessed some of the members of the Chief Minister's entourage before coming onstage at 1935 hrs. (7:35) Bhajans continued for another twenty minutes until Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi at 1955 hrs. (7:50) Blessing the assembly with abhayahastha, ladies, gents followed by students, Bhagawan left the dais at 2000 hrs. (8:00) retiring to Yajur Mandiram.

Sun, Sep 26, 2010: Scripting another glorious tale there dawned yet another Sunday morning! The pleasant morning's darshan tale began at 0930 hrs. with Bhagawan emerging from Yajur Mandiram, coming in, blessing the morning's assembly.

With hundreds of students lined up in the front row along the Divine pathway, almost everyone thrusting folded hands most reverentially, holding aloft prayers of supplication , Bhagawan moved past along the pathway, spraying blessing all over with His sanctifying glance. A full round of darshan was followed by blessing on the verandah before moving onstage at 0945 hrs.

With soulful tunes of bhajans setting up a background score, Bhagawan got into His usual wont of leafing through devotees' prayers.

At 1005 hrs. Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi. Continuing to sit for a while, glancing and blessing the assembly, Bhagawan left the dais at 1015 hrs. heading into the interview room. Spending next ten minutes in, emerging and spending awhile inside bhajans hall and later outside, Bhagawan left for Yajur Mandiram at 1035 hrs.

Singing His many names in soulful tunes with eyes riveted on the chosen physical frame is Greater Heaven's ultimate boon conferred upon Prasanthi Nilayam and her blessed assembly. Revelling in this most enviable boon the blessed sunday moved on with prayers, awaiting her next turn in the evening.

Longer the waiting, sweeter will be the feeling. This evening, as time ticked down pushing into the threshold of a departing twilight, Bhagawan emerged at 1838 hrs. (6:38) and in the backdrop echoed the bhajan, "Allaho Akbar..."

Coming onto the verandah after a full round, Bhagawan interacted with the visiting Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Ashok Chavan before moving onstage at 1850 hrs. (6:50).

As He sat onstage presenting Himself to the assembly, bhajans raised to a crescendo instigating the innate passion for the Divine.

The session prolonged till 1920 hrs. (7:20) when Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi. Bhagawan sat for a while blessing some of the boys before leaving the dais. Interacting and blessing the Chief Minister's family, Bhagawan moved past towards the ladies' side enroute Yajur Mandiram.

Sat, Sep 25, 2010:Yet another evening turned alive with Prasanthi's collective prayers setting off winning one more pricely Divine Darshan!

This evening, emerging at 1735 hrs. (5:35 pm), to the chants of Vedam coupled with folklore drum beatings by the devotees from UP and Uttarakhand, Bhagawan went for a slow round of darshan blessing multitudes. As He swayed from end to end conferring His benedictory glance upon the thousands, in the men side, one could see a hundred kneeling on their knees, paying obeisance to the Beloved Beauteous Divine Form! At the end of the round, tiny tots from Primary School got their dues yet again as Bhagawan paused for a while posing at, watching them chanting the Vedam enthusiastically. Moving further into the ladies' side, Bhagawan turned around to come on to the portico. Moving on, talking to a couple of groups, Bhagawan came onstage at 1755 hrs. (5:55 pm).

Twin states of UP and Uttarakhand were to stage a dance drama in Hindi entitled "Syan Sya Aradhana" and a beautiful backdrop of the holy Mount of Kailash was ready facing the Seat of Divinity.

After a ten minute pause, when Bhagawan preferred to attend to devotees' letters, He called over the State President blessing him for the commencement of the programme. This was followed by a group of children in special priestly attire, who came unto him with a temple structure, a depiction of cultural and spiritual heritage of the twin states. As the State President went on explaining various religious centres illustrated, Bhagawan remained keen, listening to and watching over.

The play was based on the rich cultural traditions of northern region of Kumaon Mandal in Uttarakhand.

The drama began with a prayer and ritual to Syan Sya, the Supreme Lord, portrayed in traditional folklore. The presentation on the whole was an attempt to depict the cultural variety of the region that has a strong base rooted in spirituality. Bringing in a couple of touching incidents from the life of "Little Sathya", intermittently coming up with dance sequences showcasing tradtions and cultural variety, the fifty minute presentation served as a cultural intro of the northern region to Prasanthi Nilayam. Jodha Dance, a temple dance prayer to Mother Goddess and Krishi Nritya, depiction of celebration of harvest highlighting harmonious coexistnce of man and animals received rounds of applause from the capacity audience.

Finally, the presentation ended 'in Prasanthi Nilayam' where the 'narrators' who arrived for Bhagawan's Darshan pledge a resolution to follow His core teachings of "Love all Serve All" and "Service to Man is Service to God". Burst open into a final folk song & dance hailing Prasanthi Nilayam, the children from the twin states brought the curtains down on the colourful presentation.

Bhagawan moved down the dais to pose for a photo session. This was followed by clothe distribution to the participants, sarees and safari pieces. As prasadam distribution went on, Bhagawan sat through, watching over the proceedings. Mangala Arathi was offered at 1915 hrs. (7:15 pm). Interacting with a couple of boys for some time Bhagawan left the dais, moving off, listening to many, retiring to Yajur Mandiram.

Fri, Sep 24, 2010: A retiring day's demeanor in Prasanthi often plays the right contrast for the highest spiritual theatre where The Lord in physical frame moves in, conferring His highest divine benediction every day. Today, in the evening, when a shady sky enhanced the waning process, lights turned on at 1800 hrs., (6 pm), illuminating the hall announcing the arrival of The Lord! The surge of devotees sat with added verve having missed out the precious glance on the previous evening.

The red clad beauteous form emerged and as He breezed in, He began the day's 'journey' glancing at a little one, blessing the one with a Vibhuti packet, a sight Prasanthi beholds intermittently these days. Bhagawan moved on dispersing the concerned look of a thousand mother, yet non-attached, styling in His characterestic disposition.

In the assembly, there were many in special scarves, especially a strong team from South Africa, followed by devotees in general apart from the white army of students. It appeared every soul wanted to grab His direct attention, some expressing it quite outward while many others recede into the inner chambers, catching The Divine more subtly, within. He attended many, nay all, as His presence itself is the highest boon! As He took the final detour turning towards the front portico, a mini group from Muddenahalli got to interact with Him. As He continued to move on, Bhagawan casted His intent glance on the old students' block before moving on to the birthday boys and Vedam group.

Even as He completed His usual full round, the day's round was still not over, as Bhagawan moved further into the ladies' end, for an 'extra mile'. Coming on to the verandah, there was another group from the Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science awaiting, seeking blessings. Blessing the group, blessing some others, Bhagawan came onstage at 1817 hrs. (6:17 pm).

Coming onstage, Bhagawan adorned the dais, occupying The Seat of The Divine! He had a bunch of letters from His devotees and as He sat on, He was leafing through these prayers, while public attention remained riveted onstage. This divine act in the public could be perceived as a Divine Assurance of His stature, being the "Ultimate Refuge" for mankind and its varied problems.

Soul-stirringly beautiful bhajans hailing Him as Ram and Rahim and all other possible names continued to fill the air. As time ticked down, Bhagawan sat through, non-chalant as The Supreme Divine!

At 1843 hrs. (6:43 pm) He turned towards the priest indicating for Mangala Arathi. As the blessed Arathi song was on, glancing at the devotees He raised His right palm up followed by His gesture of circling the same in an outward direction; He continued His gesture with a writing in the air with the index finger. These are His inimitable moments, Prasanthi revels to remember from her notebook of nostalgia. Bhagawan repeated the act once again before blessing the assembly with His abhayahastha, both gents and ladies seperately.

Leaving the dais, Bhagawan headed towards the interview room, blessing many enroute. Bhagawan spent next ten minutes in, before emerging at 1910 hrs. (7:10 pm) reitiring to Yajur Mandiram.

Yet another glorious day to recapitulate, while reminding oneself that Bhagawan is Sakshat Para Brahma Swarupa!!!

Thu, Sep 23, 2010: Glorified Thursday wins yet another Morning Darshan! On this pleasant, beautiful morning, emerging at 9:00 hrs. on the dot, Bhagawan went for a full round of darshan before coming onstage in ten minutes, via bhajan hall. As bhajans progressed that was enlivened by the enthusiastic participation of the primary children, Bhagawan blessed one of the bhajan boys, a harmonium player, with a materialised golden chain. At 9:42 hrs. Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi, upon which He left the dais retiring for the session.

As the Sri Lankan devotees have left, a huge group of over 2000 devotees from South Africa have arrived beginning their ten days Parthi Yatra this morning.

Wed, Sep 22, 2010: Every fresh day dawns in Prasanthi painting a canvas of nostalgia writ with golden darshan stories from the past. Each of these days is overly enthusiastic to win His Divine Grace and thus resolute to behold His physical frame. As the day advances, as clock ticks down to the evening hours, the white army of students arrive at the precincts to lead the proceedings of Vedam and Bhajans. Men and women from all walks of life, barring discrimination whatsoever, also flock to steal a glimpse of the beautiful divine form. This sets the backdrop for the anticipated darshan hour in Prasanthi Nilayam.

On such a pleasant evening, today, as clock ticked down to the waning hour, there was an added buzz of excitement, especially after enduring a blank Tuesday yesterday.

Emerging at 1855 hrs. (6:55) and breezing into the packed Sai Kulwant hall, Bhagawan went for a complete round of darshan before going for the 'extra mile' into the ladies' side. Turning about, Bhagawan came onto the verandah. Breezing past the lower verandah, listening to many, He came onstage at 1915 hrs. (7:15) as Bhajans went on.

After about ten minutes Bhagawan called for Mangala Arathi. Sitting for a couple of minutes, leaving the dais at 1930 hrs. (7:30) The Lord glided towards the ladies' side retiring for the day.

As every day gets into the annals of His Story, every inch of this holy land thrills at His sight and throbs at the nostalgic memoirs of His days of past! This is not nostalgia of sorts; rather nostalgia for the ultimate divine touch of grace. Divine Darshan in Prasanthi thus becomes the jewel in the crown of the spirit of the spiritual world!!!

Indeed every day is beholden to Him for His supreme munificence and so are those eyes that are blessed to steal a glance of the enchanting divine form!

Mon, Sep 20, 2010: Spirit of Sai Students is divinely infused and thus refuses to cave in to sleep. "My Property" as Bhagawan calls them with 'pride', these students reciprocate every bit of this "Divine Honour" pushing themselves to do the best, upholding the high esteem of the hallowed alma mater run from Prasanthi Nilayam.

Despite being busy with academics, as "preparatory days" are on for the ensuing mid-semester exams that are coming up next week, today, in the evening, a talented bunch of students from the Institute was ready with a musical bouquet, entitled "Voice of Unity". This evening, with the waiting for Bhagawan's darshan began, there was an added enthusiasm in the air, as, the previous day, the week-ending sunday, had missed out Divine Darshan.

...And Lord's twilight saga is on. Bhagawan emerged at the 'waning twilight, that was turning sepia, at 1820 hrs. (06:20 pm). Coming in for a complete round, blessing many a primary students, both girls and boys that included birthday benedictions, Bhagawan moved into the ladies' side for His 'usual' 'add on', before landing on the verandah. Coming onstage at 1840 hrs. (06:40 pm)., Bhagawan sat through flipping letters from devotees while the 'front bunch' of students was awaiting His nod of approval for the programme.

At 1905 hrs. (07:05 pm) , Bhagawan gave a fleeting meaningful look at the awaiting bunch, granting the much awaited nod of approval. Commencing the programme with an introduction on the salient features of the esteemed institute, the programme got off to an excellent start with a carnatic piece of Saint Thyagaraja, "Ramanannu Brovara...", rendered with professional touch. Celebrating the "Spirit of Bharat", the next item was a dance on the theme "Mera Bharat Mahan..." that was followed by an instrumental piece, intertwined with commentary in Hindi, echoing national integration.

The Glory and uniqueness of Prasanthi Nilayam, invoking one and all unto the land of peace, the students burst open with the popular qawwali, "Sai Ke Durbar Mein..." finally winding up the 45 minutes session with the popular "Love Song for The Divine", "Hum Ko Thumse Pyaar Kithna....".

Electrifying the evening, airing lofty themes of national integration, hailing the alma mater, this reservoir of great talent and devotion, dedicated the presentation to their Divine Chancellor in presence of a visiting NAAC Team (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), an autonomous institution established by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Mangala Arathi was offered at 1948 hrs. (07:48 pm) and Bhagawan left the dais at 1955 hrs. (07:55 pm) , after asking for an encore of "Samatha Lokaaha...". With His usual wont of benedictions, Bhagawan moved on gliding into the ladies' side, bringing the curtains down on a beautiful monday evening. After missing out both the sessions yesterday, Primary children came in full force this evening, enlivening the session with their beautiful charming presence. Laddu Prasadam was distributed to the entire assemblage. Sri Lankan devotees are camping in Prasanthi Nilayam awaiting their turn to perform in the Divine Presence.

Sat, Sep 18, 2010: It appeared as if every passing moment was competing to present The Lord unto the darshan assembly, that had a long trial this evening before The Lord emerged granting Divine Darshan!

In the evening, as the bhajans went on, time passed into the night fall pushing the twilight into the past, and the bond between The Lord and the assembly was fastening from strength to strength. Bringing a cheer on the thousands, there arrived the moment, as Bhagawan emerged at 1920 hrs. (07:20 pm) coming into the lit up hall for a slow, full round of darshan. Completing the round, moving further into the ladies' side, Bhagawan came onto the verandah, moving on, interacting and blessing many before coming onstage at 1940 hrs. (07:40 pm), from the right of Ganesha.

As bhajans progressed into its third hour, after ten minutes, at 1950 hrs. (07:50 pm) Bhagawan indicated for Mangala Arathi. After the Arathi, His hands went up several times in abhayahastha before leaving the dais, retiring for Yajur Mandira, well past 2000 hrs. (08:00 pm)

II Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu II

Fri, Sep 17, 2010: Today, on this beautiful evening of bhajans and darshan, emerging at the twilight hour, at 1840 hrs., Bhagawan moved into a packed Sai Kulwant Hall, going for a slow round of darshan, blessing the multitudes. Arriving onstage just before 1900 hrs., from the right of Ganesha, Bhagawan sat on for the rest of the session that lasted for more than half-an-hour. Accepting Mangala Arathi at 1915 hrs. Leaving the dais, Bhagawan moved on, blessing many on His way, gliding into the ladies' side at 1935 hrs.

The surge of devotees, that picked up from Guru Purnima, is on and one could see, adding on to the multitudes seated in the Sai Kulwant Hall, another hundreds vying for a glimpse from outside, craning their necks yearning to steal a precious glimpse of the Divine.

II Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu II

Thu, Sep 16, 2010: Today, in the evening, announcing His Divine Entry, Sai Kulwant turned luminous at 1821 hrs. (06:21 pm) and there emerged the hallowed Divine Being, shining and outshining, advancing, writing another glorious darshan script.

Moving on in His unique style, graciously spreading grace around, Bhagawan went for a full round including the extra length into the ladies' side, which by now has become a part of His usual darshan round. At the end of the usual round, Bhagawan paused for a while posing at the tiny tots who were into full-throated bhajan singing. Coming on to the verandah, Bhagawan interacted with a group from the Institute, awaiting His blessing, before moving onstage at 1845 hrs. (06:45 pm), from the right of Ganesha.

The "Prasanthi Session" continued for another half-an-hour until Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi at 1916 hrs. (07:16 pm). Blessing the assembly with 'abhayahastha', Bhagawan left the dais for bhajan hall. Moving into the interview room shortly, He spent next ten minutes in before emerging at 1940 hrs. (06:40 pm), moving towards Yajur Mandiram.

II Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu II

Wed, Sep 15, 2010: Today, in the evening, that had an early downpour, much in advance to the "Prasanthi Hour", Bhagawan emerged at 1825 hrs. (06:25 pm), coming into a packed Sai Kulwant audience. A complete round ensued followed by the usual extra move into the ladies' side before He came onstage, blessing many enroute, at 1845 hrs. (06:45 pm) from the right of Ganesha.

Veda chanting reached a heightened tempo before ceasing giving way to the scheduled cultural presentation for the evening.

The States of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh were to present a musical ballet entitled "Mahishasura Mardini" depicting the epic battle of two extremes, Goddess Durga Vs. the demonic Mahishasura. Taking the storyline from the epical Durga Puran, the battle line was drawn between 'the good' versus 'the evil', for the evening in the immediate Divine presence. After initial blessing and an introduction in Hindi, the programme commenced at 1850 hrs. (06:50 pm).

Presented with combined artistry of dancing, acting and expressive gestures with body languages, the youth from Uttai village of Chhatisgarh brought out a most natural demonstration in folk art form unveiling the epical saga.

The twenty five minute presentation evoked greater interest in the audience as Bhagawan sat through watching the Maa Banjari Seva Samithi artistes excelling, doing justice to the given opportunity, coming up with a most natural, scintillating performance. It was a battle of power and self-respect Vs. ego, arrogance and ignorance.

The battle ground witnessed lots of howling, shouting, emitting thamasic expressions leading up to a fierce battle ending up with Mother Divine winning over the demon, granting him respite, liberation. With the demon ruling the roost and Mother Goddess armed with ten hands arriving majestically riding over a lion, roaring to peak, the battle evoked greater enthusiasm in the audience, especially for the tiny tots from the Primary, who were seen craning their necks, watching the horrifying tale with a touch of 'childish horror'. The entire presentation was done in most simplistic style that could be easily understood by one and all.

After a pause, bhajans started by the MP & Chhatisgarh troupe and even as the bhajans were on, prasadam distribution went on and subsequently Bhagawan moved down the ramp to pose with the group for photo session. At 1940 hrs. (07:40 pm) Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi. Even as the Arathi song was on, heavens opened up for a brief spell, enough to serve an indicatiion of the imminent downpour.

Sitting for some more time, interacting with some of the staff members and the Youth from the state, Bhagawan left the dais at 1950 hrs. (07:50 pm) after blessing the assembly with abhayahastha. Heavens opened up yet again, with a heavy downpour, and as Bhagawan was moving off, there came dashing the "Sai Vaahan". Even after Bhagawan 'retired', the downpour continued for almost fifty minutes.

II Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu II

Tue, Sep 14, 2010: Prasanthi’s normal quota of one hour Vedam chanting had an ‘add-on’ this evening when the Youth of Andhra Pradesh, taking their turn, presented the ‘Story of Fostering of the Vedas” through a dance drama entitled “Vedanjali” in the immediate Divine presence!

…And this evening, as The Lord emerged, along the “Divine Pathway” in the Sai Kulwant Hall, in the centre block, there was a mini temple with a Shivalinga adorning the ‘sanctum sanctorum’ invoking and greeting The Lord.

Emerging at the emergence of the twilight hour, 1810 hrs. (06:10 pm), Bhagawan made a slow, detailed round  before  completing to move a further into the ladies’ side before coming onstage at 1825 hrs. (06:25 pm), from the right of Ganesha.

The programme by the Youth of Andhra Pradesh was in consonance with the All India Sathya Sai Organisations resolution to stage cultural programmes coupled with service activities from Guru Purnima 2010 to the D-day, 23rd November 2010.

Vedam chanting continued for some more time before the senior officials from the Andhra Pradesh Organisation sought Divine blessings. A brief introduction on the programme by the State President followed before the presentation began with a soulful devotional dance in praise of Lord Shiva, setting the stage for the rest of the presentation.

The presentation was a “Visual Essay” of “Veda Poshana”, fostering of the Vedas by the Avatar of the Age, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba as identified by Him long ago as one of His Avataric Mission. Weaved in the backdrop of a village wherein the village chieftain or the preceptor takes reservation about liberal Vedic training, the presentation evolves

as the Sai Youth enters propagating the greater need of Vedic studies. Dispelling darkness of ignorance, Sai Youth comes up with inspirational real life stories of  some of the ‘past masters’ of the likes of Kamavadhani, Gandhikota Subramanya Sastry, Kolluri Somasekhara Sastry etc. , convincing the village preceptor of the greater need of liberal studies of the Vedam in the present day. Many interesting anecdotes including the emergence of the great glorious “Sai Gayathri” were depicted, traversing through the illustrious story of “The Avatar and Veda Poshana”.

Rejuvenated after hearing the “Deeds of The Lord”, the village preceptor takes on to propagate the Vedam to the villagers without any reservation and discrimination, hailing Bhagawan as the Ultimate teacher, showcasing the culmination of the episode on a brighter positive note.

The forty minute presentation with chaste powerful telugu dialogues had thematic soulful renderings served as a pointer towards Bhagawan's effort to spread the glory of Vedam over the years. With the Lord, who long ago ‘pledged’ the fostering of the same, sitting and presiding over, the youth from the state could not have expected to offer anything better than presenting a thesis that is so close to the Divine Heart!

A pause ensued after the presentation before bhajans commenced as per Bhagawan’s directive. An “aalaap” bhajan, Sri Raghavam…., came in between and as the bhajans continued and Safari pieces came in for distribution, Bhagawan moved down the ramp to sit facing the youth and to watch the distribution from close quarter. With the clothe distribution over, followed by Prasadam distribution, Bhagawan posed with the Youth, finally moving among them before returning onstage. Bhajans continued for some more time before Bhagawan indicated for Managala Arathi at 1950 hrs. (07:50 p.m.). Blessing the assembly with an abhayahastha, Bhagawan left the dais at 1956 hrs. (07:56 p.m.) moving towards Yajur Mandiram.

Mon, Sep 13, 2010: The festival of great religious significance, Ganesh Chaturthi culminates in Prasanthi Nilayam with the symbolic immersion of the Ganeshas as directed by Bhagawan.

...And there came His word and the Ganeshas retreated. Today on this 13th Sept, on the holy Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapada, Ganeshas were taken out of the pedestals of respective worshipping houses for immersion in a grand procession held in the immediate Divine presence.

On this scheduled evening the spacious Sai Kulwant Hall was taken over by a fleet of Ganeshas, numbering over twenty five, representing various institutions, followed by scores of mini Ganeshas, occupying the main pathway invoking The Over Lord for blessings…and throughout the entire stretch of the pathway, scores of students and staff were seated carrying paraphernalias related to the ritualistic offering seeking His sanctifying touch…

Bhagawan arrived at 1835 hrs. (06:35 p.m.) escorted by a colourful religious procession led by ochre robed tiny tots from the Primary School holding little Ganeshas along with Vedam and Nadaswaram troupe. Completing a slow round of darshan, Bhagawan, as usual, moved into the ladies' side before coming on to the verandah. Spending awhile with a 'combined hospital team' including directors from the twin super specialities hospitals, Bhagawan moved further to come onstage at 1900 hrs. (07:00 p.m.). Veda chanting ceased in due course of time as two "Lord Shiva along with son Lord Ganesha" moved unto Bhagawan seeking blessing for further proceedings. The higher secondary children burst into a dance song singing the glory, Ganapati Bappa Moriya..., hailing The Lord. This was followed by the colourful procession of retreat.

This is the occasion when Prasanthi showcases Ganeshas in varied theme, displaying colourful innovative ideas with the enthusiastic devoted bunch of students putting their best to impress upon The Over Lord of Prasanthi. As the

retreating procession began, there appeared vivid colourful patterns, as Ganeshas emerged donning different colours, mounted on different vehicles and chariots. While there was a Shirdi Sai Mandir replica housing the main Ganesha from the hostel, there was a Ganesha found atop the sacred bull, Nandi and another one enjoying the shelter under the Seshnag (the Divine Serpant of Lord Vishnu) and the list goes on...The procession of retreat took more than half-an-hour.

Bhagawan sat on for some more time, interacting with boys and blessing them, seeing their handiwork of tiny Ganesha structures. At 1950 hrs. (07:50 p.m.) Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi. Sitting for some more time, blessing the assembly of devotees, Bhagawan left dais at 2000 hrs. (08:00 p.m.) retiring to Yajur Mandiram.

Sun, Sep 12, 2010: Today, this weekend sunday turned out to be the most gratifying day for a group of privileged parents! These parents were honoured by Bhagawan Himself, a Divine Reward for their rightful decision to educate their children in Sathya Sai Institutions followed by their parental 'consent' permitting these children to stay back, serving in various Prasanthi institutions.

The group known as "Sai Sannidhi" has a total strength of 191 former students who are employed in various institutions, namely, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust, Twin Super Speciality Hospitals in Prasanthi and Whitefield, Twin General Hospitals in Prasanthi and Whitefield, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Leanring, Prasanthi Nilayam and Brindavan Campuses etc.

Poornachandra was set with all the participating parents and their children readied themselves in advance, as early as at 1530 hrs. (03:30 p.m.) Arrangements had been meticulously made so that Bhagawan could spend time with each family. Interesting videos of Bhagawan’s visit to Sri Sathya Sai Panduranga Kshetra, Pune and videos of Old Brindavan days were screened as the group sat waiting for The Divine arrival.

Coming into the hall at 1730 hrs. (05:30 p.m.) Bhagawan moved into the rows, satisfying each family, blessing them, answering their queries, showering Akshatas (sanctified rice). As one of the speakers mentioned, Bhagawan interacted with each family as if He was part of their family. Yes, it goes without saying Bhagawan is part of each and every family.

Bhagawan spent more than an hour and a half moving amongst the families. Subsequently, Bhagawan moved onto the specially erected dais. Mementoes, unique as each member had his name written on the packet containing the souvenir were distributed. Each member family had a special gift as well. Two short speeches followed; Sri Sai Sundrenath, Teacher, Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School expressed his feelings in a succinct way, blurting his joy on Bhagawan showering so much for all the members and their families. The next speaker Sri Sanjay Sahni, Principal, Brindavan Campus, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning who expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan. He said in a voice of pride and gratitude, “Bhagawan, Your Sannidhi (proximity) is our greatest Pennidhi (wealth)". He also echoed the feelings of all members that Bhagawan has bestowed upon them the opportunity to play a part in His mission when thousands are waiting for such a cherished golden opportunity! The glorious session came to an end with Mangala Arathi at 1925 hrs. (07:25 p.m.)

Entire Sai Sannidhi participants were served with breakfast, traditional lunch and dinner during the day.

Back in the Mandir, bhajans were on, not amplified through public address system. It was a lengthy wait for the week-end assembly. Waiting for the Lord becomes an enduring pleasure once your heart seeks His presence with selfless love....Bhagawan arrived just after 1930 hrs. (07:30 p.m.) and the bhajans got in to a crescendo with public address system turned on. Coming for a complete round, Bhagawan, as usual, moved further into the ladies' end, for a full length, before turning about to come on to the verandah. Moving on through the lower verandah, Bhagawan went into the bhajans hall, Exiting through the main entrance, Bhagawan came onstage at 1950 hrs. (07:50 p.m.). One more bhajan, and Bhagawan nodded for Mangala Arathi. After the Arathi, Bhagawan asked for an encore of "Samastha Lokaaha..." As blessed prasadam went for distribution, Bhagawan sat for a while before moving off, retiring to Yajur Mandiram beyond 2000 hrs. (08:00 p.m.) bringing curtains down on yet another glorious week!

Sat, Sep 11, 2010: Today is the auspicious day of Vinayaka Chaturthi! This evening, emerging from Yajur Mandiram after 1815 hrs., (06:15 p.m.) Bhagawan drove down to the western end of Prasanthi to the construction site of the Pilgrims' dormitories. Today was the blessed day Bhagawan chose to bestow upon His sanctifying touch, throwing open the first phase of the dormitories, newly built, to the pilgrims who flock to Prasanthi Nilayam.

Reaching the venue at 1822 hrs., (06:22 hrs. IST) Bhagawan was received by the former L & T chief, Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Satish Naik, Chief Engineer of Prasanthi NIlayam along with scores of engineers and staffers amid Vedam chanting. Lighting the lamp, blessing the occasion, Bhagawan went for a round through one of the blocks, flanked by scores of senior administrators and officials. Bhagawan had a detailed look at the facilities being provided and as He was moving past, the former chairman went on explaining various facilities provided and other projects in progress, especially at Anantapur, Muddenahalli and in Prasanthi itself. Completing the round of the twin block, Bhagawan came out to accept Mangala Arathi at 1842 hrs. (06:42 p.m.). Leaving the venue, as Bhagawan got into His car, He was greeted by enthusiastic 'shoutings' by hundreds of men and women, the workforce from the L & T, who had been most devotedly awaiting The Lord's arrival for long hours! Moving close to the group as He was driving past, Bhagawan blessed the mini-concourse with His benedictory glance and abhayahastha. Rejoicing the occasion, in response, the enthusiastic bunch shouted yet again rendering the air with louder 'Jaikars'...as Bhagawan was moving off the scene.

Each of these triple storeyed dormitories is having twin units holding a capacity of 504. With a total of 10 such dormitories to be completed before the 85th birthday, an estimated more than 5300 devotees can be accomodated once the project is completely operational. Additional features provided includes bunk coats, open shelves for keeping belongings, liberal bathroom facilities, washing facilities, sufficient fanning and ventilation etc.

Back in the Sai Kulwant Hall, bhajans went on and Bhagawan drove straight into the hall to go for a full round of darshan. Alighting at the verandah, Bhagawan moved onstage just before 1900 hrs. (07:00 hrs. IST) and soon it was time for Mangala Arathi.

Upon accepting Mangala Arathi, Bhagawan sat for some more time as blessed prasadam was being distributed. Moving off at 1910 hrs. (07:10 p.m.) Bhagawan went into the interview room for a short stint before emerging at 1915 hrs. (07:15 p.m.) retiring to Yajur Mandiram.

Celebrating the occasion of the 85th Year of Bhagawan's Advent, free north indian style breakfast was served in the Ashram Canteen in the morning. This was a dedicated offering by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Madhya Pradesh. The special service would be continuing on sunday as well.

Fri, Sep 10, 2010: Indonesia, the land with great cultural heritage, land of many islands, has come as a group on a Parthi Yathra. ...And, the evening was earmarked for the island nation to celebrate the joy of the Advent of 85 years of Divine sojourn.

Coming up with triple presentations, the island nation was ready on the beautiful evening joining the mass of devotees invoking the Divine. Bhagawan emerged at 1820 hrs. (06:20 pm IST), to the escort of a group from Indonesia, dressed up in colourful costumes reflecting national tradition. As The Lord moved past, Bhagawan blessed many including a group of boys having tiny Ganeshas, meant for different houses in the hostel, seeking blessings. Upon completing a full round of darshan, spending awhile with the tiny tots at the Primary School block, Bhagawan moved further into the ladies' side. Turning about, after a full length, Bhagawan came onto the verandah, moving into the bhajan hall, where the students were waiting for "Swami" seeking blessings for a scheduled presentation on Ramzan.

Blessing the boys, Bhagawan emerged shortly to move onstage at 1840 hrs. (06:40 pm IST) and Veda chanting raised into a higher tone. Seniors from the Indonesian group moved towards Bhagawan invoking blessings before the commencement of the programme.

At a time when personal interactions become a rarity, in this changing phase of time of the Avatar, every group that flocks to Prasanthi converse with The Lord through its presentations. Quite often, such programmes begin with introduction as a prelude, directly offering love and gratitude, in the process engaging in a sort of conversation with The Lord! Indonesian's followed the pattern giving a fitting intro for the programme bursting into a melodious song, "Gaana Priye O! Bhaava Priye..." in praise of Mother Divine!

What ensued was an hour long cultural presentation by the Sai Youth, the Balvikas and the Sathya Sai Study Group of Indonesia, reflecting Bhagawan's teachings, highlighting some of the Sai Ideals!

The main programme by the group was a drama entitled "The Search for Paradise" by the Sai Youth of Jakarta. The presentation was an illustration of the story of a youth who comes to terms with life's biggest lessons, ending up transforming himeself, airing unconditional love towards his one-time neglected parents.

Vishal, the protagonist, was into the wrong side of life, immersed in materialism, ignoring parents, rocking and rollicking with illusory success in the temporal world, quite ignoramus of the true side of human sojourn. Despite sincere efforts from his good, guiding friend, Ali, who was into Sai way of life, Vishal was not ready to pay heed to the good advice by the friend. When destiny took its toll and he was exposed to adversity, having lost a bet on 'match-fixing' a football game ending up losing millions, the greedy one came back to his senses and there began his true journey of transformation.

Presenting a most prevalent theme of current times, packed with superb dialogue delivery and natural acting, the presentation turned out to be an eye-opener, yet another chapter in the book of "Transformation". The drama concluded with a declartion that true paradise could be found only at the feet of the parents!

Earlier, the presntation began with a dance, "Krisnna Rasaleela" by the Balvikas children from Sri Sathya Sai School, Bali. The presentation was a depiction of Madhura Bhakthi exemplified by the gopikas and Radha. Presented in Balinese style, quite alien to Prasanthi, the dance depiction by scores of little children who swayed to the melody of Divine sport, turned out to be an atypical experience for Prasanthi introducing the great Balinese tradition.

The final presentation was by the Sri Sathya Sai Study Group of Indonesia, a depiction of Cosmic Divine Dance of Lord Shiva! Marked by colourful costumes, to the accompaniment of typical South East Asian style of music, the presentation was an offering at Bhagawan's Feet, seeking The Lord to shower His grace to help them achieve life's foremost goal!

Soon after the presentation, Bhagawan moved down the dais, posing for photographs, blessing all the groups. ...And the character of Ali, the good friend, earned special Divine attention as Bhagawan materialised a golden chain for the youth.

Bhagawan returned onstage and the session was far from over! As Bhagawan moved off, for a while, into the interview room, the Institute students were readying themselves for Eid celebration on the eve of the Muslim festivity. Wishing Id Mubarak, making a mention of the month long fasting and penance that entitles the community of highest Divine benediction, students burst open into a Qawwali tune in traditional Sufi style, in praise of Allah, The One Lord!

The next item to follow was "Namaz", the typical muslim prayer. At the nightfall, when the silent air in Prasanthi reverberated with the religious, godly tunes of Muslim traditional prayer, the Namaz, with scores of children engaged in praying in the Divine presence of the Mighty Lord, it sent out the sublime message of secularism that Bharat has always been promoting and Bhagawan has been echoing through His maxim, There is Only One Religion, The Religion of Love!

The programme continued with a skit on the celebration of the festival Ramzan, illustrating the spirit of the celebration, that crosses all religious barriers. Bringing parallels from The Bhagavad Gita and other religious scriptures, the presentation spoke about the true spirit of the festivity divulging details about the importance fasting etc.

Expounding on the true sense of the religion, talking on man's follies of projecting his religion to be the only one, the grateful students burst into yet another song of glory in praise of The Only One God!

A dedication song followed, before summarising the presentation with a 'thesis' on His all conquering love, singing the popular tune, "Sai Ke Darbar Mein..."calling one and all to the precincts of Prasanthi!

Quite a world with "a God" who embraces men from all walks of life and faiths, it may sound 'utopian', yet, Prasanthi lives every moment breathing the life force infused by this "Lord Who Walks The Earth" inviting everyone to witness This Great Grand Happening on Planet Earth! Rightfully, the students concluded, singing, "Aaoji Aao...Sai Ke Darbar Mein..."

Bhagawan moved down the dais yet again, posing with His children. Returning onstage, Bhagawan sat for a while flipping through the leaves of "Holy Quran" placed at His hand by the students. At 2055 hrs. (08:55 pm IST) Bhagawan turned to the priest indicating for Mangala Arathi.

Blessing the concourse with His abhayahastha, Bhagawan moved off the dais. The time clock was ticking past 2100 hrs. (09:00 pm IST) as Bhagawan was gliding into the western aisle leading to the ladies' side retiring for the day, bringing curtains down on this glorious Prasanthi evening.

Special prasadam, Indonesian chocolates packed artistically, were distributed to the entire assemblage.

Ganesh Chaturthi is schdeuled for the morrow and in the night, hostels and various other institutions will be quite active, with decorating and housing the Lord, the remover of all obstacles, before the rituals begin on the auspicious Vinayaka Chaturthi morning. Being the week-end, students from the Anantapur and Brindvan campuses have also joined Prasanthi feasting His Divine presence during the twin festive occasion!

Whispering into the singer's ear, Bhagawan sat for some more time before moving off the dais at 1910 hrs. to get into the the interview room. A couple of minutes later, Bhagawan emerged to glide into the ladies' side retiring for the day.

Earlier, when Bhagawan emerged from Yajur Mandiram in the evening, He was greeted by a group of boys from the hostel along with the warden of the hostel who arrayed there with Ganesha statues to be taken to the hostels after the sanctifying touch from Bhagawan, an annual procedure. Interacting with the warden and the boys, Bhagawan moved into Sai Kulwant Hall for His round of Divine Darshan!

Tue, Sep 07, 2010: This tuesday morning earned the Divine favour, as Bhagawan came out granting Divine Darshan! Hit by gloomy weather with shady sky blocking the brightness of the Sun, The Lord emerged at 0921 hrs. lighting up the morning with His warm presence! Coming for a full round, interacting with some devotees, Bhagawan moved into the bhajan hall to spend quite sometime in. Subsequently emerging at 0951 hrs., Bhgawan moved into the interview room to spend next forty minutes in. As time sped past, bhajans went on until Bhagawan emerged at 1028 hrs. to accept Managala Arathi. Moving off the dais at 1033 hrs., Bhagawan glided into the ladies' side retiring for the session.

Prasanthi brings the rarest ever boon, to invoke the Lord in physical, singing His glories twice per day. With bhajans rolling from one to another, it becomes a virtual sadhana of enticing The Lord with many a name. The more the waiting prolongs, which is a one-off boon for Prasanthi, her yearning intensifies.

This evening, one of such intensified yearning, Bhagawan emerged at the twilight hour, at 1843, and the response in Sai Kulwant Hall was swift as flash of light spread across luminating the God's Theatre, heads turned and eyes glued with hands going up in reverential posture and full throated bhajans rented the air with added vigour...and...Bhagawan moved on!!!

A slow round ensued with many getting their share of bliss of close darshan, sparshan and some with sambhashan. Completing a full round Bhagawan moved further into the ladies' end, before turning about to come onto the portico.

Lengthy interactions followed and even as He glided past the lower portico, many received His attention before Bhagawan assumed His seat at 1915 hrs. Soon it was time for Mangala Arathi. In the meanwhile, blessed prasadam went for distribution.

After Arathi and the Universal prayer, Bhagawan asked for an encore of "Samastha Lokaaha...". Sat, Sep 04, 2010: Divine Marriage of the Divine Couple in the immediate Divine Presence of The Supreme Divine in the Divine Abode undoubtedly bears the Supreme Divine Significance!

Today, on this day of auspicious Arudra star, in the evening, Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed the most auspicious Divine Marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, as Bhagawan presided over the session.

Assuming the greater significance of the holy occasion, as such occasions come as a rarity, the Sai Kulwant Hall and Mandir as a whole wore a festive mask with natural decorations parading all over heralding the significance. Flower buntings and festoons coupled with special tender coconut leaves with matted designs were spread across the entire Yajur Mandiram premises and at the centre block and lower portico in the Mandir.

In the front block, facing the seat of the Divine, there was a mandap (covered stage structure with pillars) erected, a square shaped one with dome atop, fully studded with natural decor in place. It was "Pachchathoranam", greenish tinge, the sign of prosperity and auspciousness, parading all over. ...All the ritual related paraphernalias were arrayed in the mandap, arranged in neat order.

At 1720 hrs. Bhagawan emerged to the holy strains of Vedam. Bhagawan was accorded a Poornakumbha Swagatham and was ushered into the hall by a grand procession led by a Veda chanting youth of Karnataka. The Divine Idols of Lord Chandrasekhara and Goddess Parvathi were escorted into the hall in a grand procession, as divinity richly deserves. While the Idols were brought into the mandap directly, Bhagawan went for a full round of darshan before coming onstage at 1732 hrs.

As the Lord emerged from His Divine Abode, a special musical troupe rendered special bhajans that continued for fifteen minutes, till 1735 hrs. The Parvathi Chandrasekhara Kalyana Mahotsavam virtually began thereafter with the rituals commenced in the Divine presence.

Song on the auspiciousness of the holy marriage was sung in between, that was followed by the 'marriage announcement' listing out various attributes of the Lord and the Goddess, the bridegroom and the bride, with clear reference on the place of the marriage, the star, the day and a mention of the presiding deity in physical at whose behest the marriage is performed. The same announcement was repeated again, representing the bride's caravan.

Preceeding to the holy marriage, both the sides, that of bridegroom and the bride, engaged in an interesting argument, showering attributes at each other, persuading the opposite party to take the first step to propose for the marriage.

The whole session was interspersed with holy strains of Vedam, commentary on the function, bhajans in praise of the Divine couple while a set of priests were engaged in various ritualistic rites, with Bhagawan watching over. Holy chantings continued invoking blessings while related rituals went on. The rituals included Punyahavachanam (purificatory rites), Thamboola Seva, Kanyadanam, Mangala Sutra offering, Vadhoo Vara Puja etc.

Bringing in the final phase of the ceremony, the couple were taken onto the stage where the Divine marriage was performed. The sanctified Mangala Sutra was tied around the neck of Goddess Parvathi, symbolising the completion of the holy marriage.

After the Divine Marriage, Gowri Kalyana Vaibhavam song rendered the air, rejoicing the auspiciousness of the occasion.

Bharat's rich spiritual lore is replete with stories of such unique Divine Union, union of Prakrithi with Purusha, foremost being that of Lord Rama with Mother Sita, Lord Krishna with Goddess Rukmini and of course, the Supreme Divine Parents, Lord Chandrasekhara and Goddess Gowri, that brings supreme benedictions. Lord Himself sat through presiding over the whole cerememony granting Prasanthi and her assemblage the highest privilege to witness a rare spiritual 'feast' of supreme benediction.

As holy prasadam was sanctified by Bhagawan, bhajans by the troupe rendered the air that was sung in a different tune, most unheard in Prasanthi. After some bhajans, as commanded by Bhagawan, students burst into a melodious rendering of Sita Rama Kalyanam followed by a couple of bhajans before Bhagawan asked for Mangala Arathi at 1900 hrs.

Sumptuous prasadam, specially packed, were distributed to the entire assemblage. The prasadam pack contained, Tamarind Rice, Sweet Pongal, Bobbattu, Banana etc. As is the custom in Andhra marriages, special gift packets containing, fruit, special sweet prasadam, savoury item, betal leaves, turmeric powder, vibhuti prasadam etc. were also distributed to the entire assemblage.

Leaving the dais, Bhagawan glided towards the ladies' side, when Primary School children with prasadam packets in hand, chanted "Brahmarpanam....", the food prayer en masse. Bhagawan paused for a while, accepting their prayers, before moving on retiring for the day, presenting yet another most auspicious evening to cherish.

The auspicious function was a humble offering at His Divine Lotus Feet by the dedicated Youth of Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Karnataka.

Fri, Sep 03, 2010: Today, in the evening, emerging at 1720 hrs., Bhagawan was ushered into the hall to a Poornakumbha Swagatham followed by a special escort of Vedic procession by a band of children from various Sathya Sai Schools across India, who have come on a Prasanthi Pilgrimage.

Moving on, attending to some devotees and subsequently glancing upon the "Vidya Vihar Team", arrayed in hudreds, Bhagawan moved past casting His special benedictions upon the flag-bearing children posed at the centre against the backdrop for the day's programme. Moving on, Bhagawan had an interaction with some of the participants before proceeding to complete the round. Blessing the birthday boys, speaking to the chief organisers at the ladies' end, Bhagawan turned to the tiny tots from the Primary School, pausing for a while posing them, listening to their chanting encouraging them to chant with added vigour. Moving a further length into the ladies' side, Bhagawan turned about to come onto the portico, proceeding to the bhajan hall.

Tomorrow being Arudra Star, the star presided over by Lord Shiva, is most auspicious and a Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam, a ceremony reminiscing the holy marriage betwee Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi would be held in the immediate Divine presence. Preceding to the auspicious day, this evening, Bhagawan performed the the Prana Pratishta of the idols, an act of infusing the Divine Life Force, followed by Netronmeelana, opening of the eyes of the deities, amidst Veda chanting. Upanayanam for the deity of Lord Chandrasekhara was also done as a part of the proceedings. The deities have been named as 'Chandrasekhara' and 'Parvathi' by Bhagawan Himself. These deities have been brought to Prasanthi Nilayam from Kumbhakonam, the 'temple town' of South India in Tamil Nadu. Before leaving the hall Bhagawan also blessed Angavastram for the priests.

Emerging in less than ten minutes, Bhagawan came onstage at 1750 hrs. through the doctors' block.

Veda chanting continued for ten more minutes before the commencement of the scheduled proceedings for the evening.

Over 1400 children from 79 Sathya Sai High Schools across India have come on a pilgrimage, celebrating the 'Joy of being One in the Divine Presence of Mother Sai'.
